Originally developed in 2008 as Kidz Biz Education, The Chat Academy continues to provide fun and engaging lessons for South Australian primary school students, focusing on the Sexual Health Education Curriculum.

Keryn brings over 8 years of experience as an educator with Kidz Biz Education to The Chat Academy. As a Registered Nurse and a mother of two girls, Keryn has a deep understanding of the challenges and complexities of growing up in today's world.

Dean brings innovative ideas and valuable experience to the development of The Chat Academy. With 13 years as a Primary School Health and PE teacher, he is deeply attuned to the curriculum needs for sexual health education in the primary years.

I am a qualified teacher and registered midwife with a strong passion for sexual health and wellbeing education.

I began my career as a primary school teacher before moving into midwifery, where I now work as a clinician and educator.

As a mum of two children myself, I understand the importance of providing age-appropriate, inclusive and respectful education that supports children to feel safe, confident and informed.

I am passionate about building relationships with the school communities I attend through humour and empathy.

When I am not working, I love heading away in my caravan to spend time at the beach to catch some waves and read a good book!

I am proud to work with The Chat Academy to help young people develop healthy foundations for their wellbeing.

I have worked professionally as a Registered Nurse for 19 years, providing services in a range of specialty areas with children, young people and adults. The aim of completing my Masters of Counselling was to combine both qualifications in order to make a greater difference to the growing number of kids and adolescents who are experiencing mounting distress around growing up and puberty.

I've seen firsthand when kids and adolescents can't cope with mounting complexities around growing up today, both in hospital and private practice setting.

Both qualifications complement each other as I have the ability to connect at their level by having an understanding of issues they face, and support discussions in a safe environment.
